This week had a frustrating beginning, after finishing my course of antibiotics, I had found that my skin was still not healing up. The older wounds have nearly vanished, only recognisable because of the paler skin, but I was seeing more patches pop up. This meant another arduous trip back to the hospital in Toliara, where I received another 5-day course of antibiotics. This meant another week without diving! It's been especially hot recently, and I'm definitely craving the cool ocean!
On the upside, after waiting for nearly a month and a half, my package from home arrived! A big old suitcase packed full of all of the bits and bobs I wanted, and more! It was nice to have my left-behind raincoat, even if the rainy season is now over. Plus I was delighted to find my parents had wedged in tonnes of treats and snacks, which I am now attempting to ration, though a little unsuccessfully. This suitcase also came with some donations as well, from a large collection of sewing materials for waste management, pens and colouring books for kid's club, to even a mini keyboard! I'm sure that the local children will be delighted! For anyone that brought things in, thank you very much!
